... discover hope and a future

A safe, caring and supportive environment where women of all backgrounds can heal from the past, become emotionally healthy and move forward with hope and confidence for the future.

On Wednesday April 5, 2017, New Life Ministries Thunder Bay suffered a tragic loss when Hope House was destroyed by fire. This home has a long and unique history in Thunder Bay. It feels more like we are saying goodbye to a close family friend than closing the doors of a building. The home was built in the late 1960’s by John & Shirley Morrison. The property included a barn & horses and eventually a built in swimming pool which was a magnet for all the neighbourhood kids.

In 2008 the home was purchased by New Life Ministries Thunder Bay.  It was our dream to provide a safe & supportive environment for women to heal from the past & move forward with hope and confidence for the future. In 2014 we opened our doors and ran two successful programs. 2016 brought an exciting new partnership with Urban Abbey and the THRIVE program.

The loss of the home is devastating to the 100’s of volunteers as well as program participants. Hope House is run ENTIRELY by volunteers who have spent thousands of hours in preparation, maintenance & running the house and programs. New Life Ministries Thunder Bay is completely funded by the generosity of individual & community donors – we receive no government funding. We have a strong team that is committed to rebuilding Hope House. Thank you Thunder Bay for your continued support.
