... discover hope and a future

A safe, caring and supportive environment where women of all backgrounds can heal from the past, become emotionally healthy and move forward with hope and confidence for the future.

NEWS RELEASE : Hope House & Teen Challenge working together for the future

After a devastating fire destroyed Thunder Bay’s Hope House (a residential program for at‐risk women) earlier this year, New Life Ministries is excited to work with Adult & Teen Challenge to expedite the launch of a new women’s program.

Adult & Teen Challenge of Central Canada is a Christian discipleship program that has been helping those struggling with addiction in Thunder Bay since 2004. They offer community support groups for men and women, drug awareness teams, and a yearlong men’s residential recovery program at 401 Syndicate Ave South. Other programs in the region include a women’s centre in Brandon, MB and men’s centres in Winnipeg, MB & Denare Beach, SK.

Both New Life Ministries and Adult & Teen Challenge recognize the real need for a women’s residential recovery program in the city, and share the common goal of providing women a safe environment to focus on their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual recovery, overcome their addictions and gain guidance for their future. That is why Adult & Teen Challenge is determined and prepared to carry out that goal to fruition.

To offer the fastest possible help to women in need, initial plans include using existing space for a small group of women, with a longer-term vision of rebuilding Hope House on its original site.

ATC executive director, Rev. Steven Paulson shares “We have enjoyed a longstanding friendship with New Life Ministries, and are thrilled to work together to help the women of our region who struggle with life controlling problems. Hope House will be the safe haven and place of healing for women it was always intended to be.”
